Ten years ago this week, torrential rains fell across the Front Range, triggering one of the worst floods in Colorado’s short recorded history, accompanied by a staggering repair bill now approaching $3 billion. With Boulder County at the epicenter of the disaster, the road to recovery has been long and arduous, and still continues today. This week in weather: February 6, 2017

After a gorgeous weekend with temperatures across the Plains in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s, the week starts off rather uneventful with conditions similar to yesterday. However, things will be changing, mainly in the department of gusty downslope winds several days this week. This spells out continued above normal temperatures for the Plains, but upslope flow and snowfall for the High Country. This week in weather: September 26, 2016

After a cool and “autumn-like” weekend, this week will feature milder temperatures and lots of sunshine, at least through midweek. A fly in the ointment will be a weak system approaching from Baja California which will increase clouds and lead to the chance of isolated rain or storms late in the week. Dry weather has prevailed across northeast Colorado for the last several days, with temperatures moderating from the 60’s to near 90 degrees. This trend continues through much of this week’s forecast as a flat upper-ridge dominates our weather. This week in weather: August 22, 2016

After a wet end to the previous week, the weekend started out cool and concluded warm with highs approaching 90 degrees over the Plains on Sunday. This week will begin with above normal temperatures, but a cold front moving in along with subtropical moisture will increase our threat of rain and storms through the middle of the week.
